Miss Di — Founder & Instructress

Diana Lefebvre, also known as "Diva Di", is one of Canada's top dancesport trainers. Her classical ballet training lead her to the world of ballroom dancing and in 1997 she opened what came to be one of Canada's premier dancesport facilities.

In 1999, she teamed up with North American Latin Champion, Martin Lefebvre. Together they competed for Canada for six years and in 2003 they represented Canada at the World Professional Latin Championships in Innsbruck, Austria.

In 2004, after an injury, Diana retired from competition and in 2006 she sold her studio and married her dance partner, Martin. In 2008 Martin and Diana welcomed their baby girl Bianca into the world. She now devotes her time to motherhood, training her competitive youth dancesport team, judging, and of course, "Burlesquercise"! Diana is also a co-founder of
the Rocky Mountain Dancesport Grand Prix, Western Canada's largest dancesport competition. With the influence of Burlesquercise, it is most definitely the sexiest event in Canada!

Known as a knowledgeable and entertaining instructor, Diana's greatest talent is her ability to connect and build confidence within people.

Diana's burlesque story...

Naturally shy and introverted, Diana was attracted and seduced by dancing. Although a professional dancer, she struggled to feel comfortable in her own skin and the "sexy factor" always eluded her. Determined to break free, Diana hired several teachers to assist her in various skills to build her confidence.

"I used to think that perhaps Jennifer Lopez woke up feeling hot, but I came to understand that these are skills that can be learned regardless of your personality type. I am naturally an introvert, but after a lot of training and practice, I now live as an introvert with extroverted skills."

After people started to see her transformation, they began to ask for help boosting their own confidence and stage presence. Originally, she only offered classes to her dancers, but when when they started asking if their mothers could come, Diana realized that that confidence and self esteem were things that most women were struggling with. And so Burlesquercise was born.
