Thank you, is too small a phrase to express how I feel today.
I feel so blessed to have met you and to be under your tutelage. How can I describe to people what it is like to be a student of yours? How can I describe the new freedom I experience with each new class? I recently realized that when I first started coming to Burlesquercise I was relating to my sexuality from the fear of a young girl. I am now trying to harness the confidence that comes from relating to my sexuality as a woman who is in complete control of her body and what she does with it
Others may read this and ask, how the hell can a feather boa help transform how I feel about my sexuality? Well in the short time that I have been dancing with you, I am walking taller, standing straighter with my shoulders back and the sisters upright!! I recently went to Addition Elle to purchase some things to wear for our Masquerade de Nuit performance. The sales clerks were chatting with me about how refreshing it is to see a larger size woman, embrace her body, walk out of the change room freely, SPECIFICALLY to find out how the ‘bra’ looks with the vest!!! I then told them all about Burlesquercise and that I expect them to come to our Christmas Cabaret.
It’s not just the sense of humor you have with us when coaching us through these new dance steps and zoning practices; it’s not just the personal experiences you share with us about your own journey to become a sexy vixen; but it’s the way you take care of us. The emails of encouragement. The smiles of pride as we experience our new found confidence. The genuine joy in what you are doing. Laying your own ‘yellow brick road’ for us to follow to our own wisdom within. By breaking down our internal barriers.
If I could vote for you to be a CNN hero of the year, I would. You are STUNNING. There are times, in our classes or as we watch you walk by, or listen to your instructions. “Bring big safety pins, a sewing kit, eat something substantial.” It is in these moments that we look at each other and say “I love Di. She’s so beautiful.”
And it’s true. We really do love you Di. For what you give to us. Your heart.
Today I am so grateful for you, for Burlesquercise and for all the opportunities knowing you gives me.
I can’t wait for my next class!!!
I hope you take some time to really taken in and own the difference you make to us.

Jiggling and giggling on July 7th with Kaitlyn Regehr...
So... I decided to attend Kaitlyn Regehr's coyote ugly work shop.
Night starts out with hugs, hellos, and diva kisses from fellow dancers, soon
it's time to belly up to the bar. The dance bar...the ice cold beer was for later.
YEEHAW
Ready for the night in my tight black hip hugging yoga pants....leave the daisy dukes for the younger ones. Pink cowboy hat in hand...I mean on head, black spaghetti strap top with added pink tassels for emphasis and I am ready to sashay down the coyote trail !!!!
Previously I had spent a year toning and tightening my core with Di and her merry band of outlaws a.k.a. instructors Kim and Annick. And for one night only, in rides a new Sheriff, cutie pie Kaitlyn and she wants me to forget core and let things....shake a bit more, let my hips sway....unleash them....
What the blazes Katilyn? What you been drinking? Moonshine?
She bats her eyes at us in slow motion and with a sugary smile tells us, forget core, think jiggle and sway.
“UH HUH,” she says, thumbs stuck deep into her belt buckle, which by the way is sitting strategically below her tiny waist. It’s as if she is sayin, “I'm the new Sheriff in town and I make the rules.” Sway those hips, loosen it up gals.
AND WE DID!
All too soon level one was over but wait for it, level two promised more tricks than a
traveling medicine show. Dancers refreshed with liquid barley at the watering hole,
level two brought on more excitement for the naughty cow girls.
My hips...let them sway, got it! But you want me to what? Hold on there Sheriff, you may be new in town but you want me to let my backside what? A milkshake? That's not at all lady like now is it? But that is what the night is all about, taking risks and having fun. I look around and see smiles and giggles and right out slap your thigh laughing from my fellow cowgirls.

Being that my butt is the biggest part of me you would think that would be easy.
But it does take a lot of concentration to make the connection. One part tight
one part loose....
Level two done and dusted, Kailyn rides into the sunset unleashing the cowgirls on an unsuspecting city. We are armed, dangerous, and gorgous, just ask anyone that was at Ranchmans!
