A 2010 message from “The Church of di”....

So..listen up babes...I've been thinking..pondering as they say...

My mind has been twirling in a bunch of confused thoughts and observations and I finally can see through the clouds and clutter.

After a crazy year of building this company, new staff, new dance company, new locations, trade shows, merchandise, outdoor festivals, Calgary Oscars, teaching a thousand classes, charities and oh ya...that outrageous NAUGHTY CHRISTMAS party!!! ..that I am still recovering from...and did I mention I have a 1 year old baby girl, a husband ...and I also work as a dancesport trainer and judge... question

Here is my revelation and observation of 2009...

"WHY DO SO MANY WOMEN FEEL LIKE CRAP?!"

I just don't get it. Here we are, living in this free liberated society and we are busy feeling un-worthy, fat and ugly. I myself am constantly struggling for self-acceptance and self-esteem. The good thing is that whew....I caught myself once again in bunch of thoughts that I don't have to believe. In fact, I don't even have to think them. How shamed we should be for not being happy and not living free, loud and crazy fun lives. Look at the status of women around the world I tell myself....and here I find myself whining about my ass. How pathetic.

So that's it. I decided. No more whining...no more feeling like crap..if I have thoughts and conditioning that don't serve me..then I'm gonna do something. See a shrink, jump off a plane, read a book.. dance at a Burlesque Gala..then damn it! I'm gonna do it! And then I'm gonna make sure that I do something, anything, to help others.

The only way to honor all the women before us and to inspire those that have less is to be HAPPY!!!!

So for God's sake..get in class girlfriend.

Big Kiss and hope to see you in 2010!

Thank you Di for that message. "All hail the Church of Di!"

Yes we women of the world have to stop with the negative self talk. I know I still do it. I have to stop myself and change the thought. So if I say to myself "I hate my ass." I stop myself take a breath and say "I love my ass." Or, "I love my body."

I love inspiring my Sisters, other women, friends of dance. To show others that you don't have to be a size 4 to perform, or dance in front of others.

Oh, and I'm in a class already, can't wait to Sizzle again on Jan. 19!! See you there!

Thanks Di!
What inspiring thoughts and words you have just written. We do need to remember how fortunate we are to have what we have and also to know that we can improve our own self-esteem, self-confidence and awareness while helping others do the same.

My experience with Burlesquercise has been so uplifting and I look forward to 'stepping it up a notch' and continuing to participate with such a great group.

Thank you again for your support and dedication to helping so many people discover themselves through the art of dance movement. I have recognized so much in myself that was hiding and that I failed to share. And it feels so good knowing that I can be the woman that I want to be.

You are so right, Di, it's such a waste of energy that millions of perfectly adorable women feel inadequate. There are so many institutions in society undermining us: they want us to feel bad so that we'll buy their fashion/beauty products to feel better. The media are always showing us perfect bodies that 99.99% of people can never attain. Only 15% of women have the classic hourglass figure but that is the only
one held up as "beautiful". The cruel thing is nobody appreciates diversity. Even recognizing what's going on, I still wish I had curvier curves on my body than I do. Here I am wanting a fuller, wider set of hips, while you (I presume) wish you had something more like my slender boy-ish ones. It's tragic and criminal.
You are beautiful, get used to i! So am I, and I'm trying to accept it. There are very few really ugly people and anyway, why should we let looks matter that much? Your own project, Burlesquercise, is part of the solution. We hold actresses, models and performers to represent our ideals of beauty; by giving "ordinary" women (and with your new gay friendly classes, men) the chance to experience performance in
an inherently sexually charged medium of expression, we all get a taste of greatness. Don't hate your lovely curvy badonkadonk, you have a beautiful one, embrace it! I'll try to be friends with my skinny one. It DOES have kind of a nice bubble-butt thing going on. Beauty is as beauty does. Be happy and usewhat you got! Amen, sister! Thanks for the inspiration.

hahaha!!

i so appreciate the bubble butt comment...i'm so working on it.
My question is this..who is the media?
Yes, I agree the media is draining us of our power and brain washing us..but who are they? I've come to realize..it's us.It's the dark/ego/shadow side of us...we are actually buying into our own crap!!!
Women for thousands of years have been changing the world, demanding better and we still have a long way to go..i mean for God's sake there is still human trafficking...this is our generation's burden..only we can do something..we must keep carrying the flag...don't buy that into that crap anymore..we have free minds!

Thanks Di for your very inspired words. Are you sure you didn't miss your calling as a public speaker? Oh wait that is what you are except you also speak with your body. I can hardly believe that you, of all the women I know, can doubt yourself, your value and the amount of strength and hope and confidence you have inspired in countless women. I understand because trying to throw out the old tapes that play in our heads is difficult. Its like hanging on to 8 tracks in case it ever comes back LOL. I often doubt myself too but I can't deny how many men tell me I am very sexy and confident in my sexuality. Goes to show anyone has the ability to be sexy even if we don't all look like skinny supermodels.

I think that to get the personal loans from banks you must have a firm reason. But, one time I've received a short term loan, because I was willing to buy a house.

There are thousands websites that provide their paid directory submission stuff. However, we only can provide professional directory submission service in the whole internet!

Some men think that is unsafe to buy academic research papers. However, I think that academic papers writing services present high quality only, just because their reputation relies on that.
