Gotta love those "Vegas" vixens for volunteering at THE CALGARY HUMANE SOCIETY!
I gotta say my girls came out in full color with great attitude and lots of laughs August 14th 2009 at THE CALGARY HUMANE SOCIETY!
The shelter had lots of beautiful kitties to adopt and had over 40 adoptions in one evening!
Yayyy to all Kitty Cats!!!

On Friday August 14th the shelter will be hosting a great evening in hopes of adopting as many kitties as possible. The shelter is over-loaded and can use all the support they can get!
The dancers will be performing at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.

Wow! Wow ! Wow! Thanks so much for everyone that came out to support "The Little Vegas Dance Company" at the 2009 Lilac Festival!
A big thanks to all the company dancers who have been working so hard..and a big kiss to our guest dancesport artists Julia and Rufino!
What a fun day we had, especially with all those tourists wanting endless photos.Check out some great photos in the Gallery.
The show got wicked reviews and I am so excited for the future of this great little company.
Also a special thanks to Sarah and Cheri for all the continual costume design and construction...my husband Martin for great stage management...and Grace, Kelsey and Meghan for volunteering their time at the booth spreading the sexiness!

Cute Country Dancer turns into Sexy Burlesque Kitten!
I was introduced to dancing at a very young age. Just 4 years old is when I first took the giant stage in my pink tutu and leotard. Growing up, dancing in our household was our way of life. My two sisters, my mom and I have always been involved in dance in some form or another. It’s been ballet, cheerleading, tap, jazz and highland dance. My greatest achievement thus far has been gaining the title of World Champion at the United Country and Western Dance Council World Championships this past January in Orlando, Florida.
I have foolishly left the dance world in the past only to realize what makes me feel the best about myself is to dance. Dancing is a way to express your inner self and release the energy inside you. It’s a great way to stay in shape too – so I’ve realized after giving it up a few years ago. I had the unfortunate experience in gaining a few unnecessary pounds – never again!
Di’s class is full of energy and inspiration. I encourage those thinking of joining her class to take my advice and do it. You’ll gain confidence, energy and of course start noticing that sexy body you’ve always dreamed of.
The opportunity to join Di’s Little Vegas Show Company is something I’ve been looking forward to. Performing in front of an audience is what I thrive on the most. I love the thrill of it! Now I’ll be able to release my inner sex-kitten…just wait and see!

Dancing has always been a big part of my life.
As a child it was a creative outlet for me to express myself and enjoy being who I really was. Dancing was, and still is, like taking an exciting holiday away from everyday life – back then it was Disneyland; perhaps today it’s an exotic island, a mysterious foreign country or a glamorous metropolitan city. This love affair with dance continues on throughout my life today as I experiment with different forms such as flamenco, jazz, hip hop and most recently oriental belly dancing.
A friend introduced me to Di’s burlesquercise last year and I have been hooked ever since. Di’s classes provided me with everything I could ever want in a dance class – laughter, confidence, a sense of sexiness, dance foundation, sizzling choreographies and a killer workout! I have enjoyed meeting new friends, laughing with old friends and looking forward to early morning weekends for class. This is not your typical dance/ exercise class – even though I’ve danced for most of my life, I found that burlesquercise with Di gave me a great new challenge as well as a phenomenal mentor to study with.
Having performed at a professional level in the past I was always looking for new ways to improve my skills and better express myself in front of an audience. I believe that studying with Di and being in the company of other talented dancers will give me that extra edge I was looking for. Needless to say, I am extremely excited to be given the opportunity to dance with the “Little Vegas Dance Company”!

This class has changed me in more ways than one!
When I first started, I was looking to stay fit, get my dance fix in, and access that extra bit of confidence in myself that was hiding, just waiting for the right time to be coaxed out.
Originally I was reluctant to get up on Sunday mornings, but once I started the class that quickly vanished. It felt like you were walking into an alternate reality where you were free to let go and just be yourself. The classes are fun, relaxed, and taught me to love every part of my body. To be confident, you have to feel sexy; and to feel sexy you have to accept the way you are made. Once you are at this point, you realize you can do anything you want to.
The fitness targets areas that are usually missed in a normal workout and the laughter inspires you inside and refreshes you from a stressful work week in time to get you prepared for another one. Laughter is the perfect medicine for any ailment, and if you are badly in need of that type of medicine, Di's class has more than enough for everyone.
I remember now how much I loved dancing back then, and I'm glad to be dancing again and giggling with the girls of the Las Vegas Dance Company!

I discovered my love for dance as an adult.
What started as a hobby 14 years ago has become a passion for me. I have studied everything from Country and Western, to Ballroom, Latin, West Coast Swing, Hip Hop, and most currently Middle Eastern BellyDance. After 7 years of Bellydance, something I currently do at a professional level, it was time to add something new.
A year ago I discovered "BURLESQUERCISE". The fact that I live an hour and a half N.W. of Calgary and drove in every Sunday for class should give you an indication as to how much I love Di's classes. The new friends, self confidence, and increased self esteem that the classes have given me, carry over into every aspect of my life.
In the very near future I will be re-locating back to Calgary due to a job transfer. In the meantime I still commute for class, and am very excited for the opportunity to dance with "The Little Vegas Dance Company"

Dancing is my passion!
I believe that you have to make time for the things that you really love, and make you feel alive, even in the "grown up" world. I started dancing with Di about 12 years ago. She is an amazing dancer, a fantastic coach, and a beautiful person. If anyone can make you feel great about yourself, it is her. The past few years have been on again, off again for me and my dance relationship, trying to fit classes in and really be able to be devoted to them is sometimes challenging with everything else going on in life. The chance to be part of Di's performance group was one I couldn't pass up. I am dancing, and performing again, and I haven't felt this good in a long time.

This is NOT your average dance class!
When I began taking Di’s inspiring classes eighteen months ago, I could not have imagined a better experience. Not only is it a fantastic way to keep off that pesky winter “insulation”, but also it is also tremendously empowering. When these qualities are paired with unique dance numbers the combination is unbeatable.
The results I have recognized in my body from the high-energy blend of cardio, pilates and dance are exciting, but the real magic for me has come from the undeniable internal growth. This class fosters a spirit of encouragement through “Sexy Support Circles”, in-class mantras like “I am sexy” and a ton of laughter. The self-confidence that comes with the ability to truly strut in high heels, and rock every bodily curve is fabulous. As I continue to discover my inner diva, I feel as though I am receiving the secret perks of being a woman.
Do not wait to sign up for classes. It is an absolute pleasure to spend time with Calgary’s foxiest ladies to develop yourself inside and out. There is nowhere I would rather spend a Sunday morning then in Di’s class!
