Can you believe Janet has been with Burlesquercise for 7 years? She is an amazing ambassador and here are some of her recent thoughts of the Rockabilly Blues Burlesque Gala and the Perfect Pin Up Workshop:
Words from Janet:
I attended the Burlesquercise after party yesterday and I have to say as usual I had a great time with my fellow Burlesque Babes. I have been taking the classes for what, almost 7 years now and I love the community of friends I have gained. When I first started out on my journey with Burlesquercise – I had seen an article in the Calgary Herald about this new form of exercise that had been introduced to Calgary and was intrigued. I had always wanted to take dance lessons and was never allowed to as a child… I was fascinated by tap. This was about the same time that my physical therapist told me that I have to do some form of exercise that I enjoyed as I had done so much damage to my knees that it had better be something that I loved so that I could work through the pain. Well I signed up for a beginner class and Di had always been amazing at helping me deal with my knee issues and letting me still be a part of the dance routines and even perform. But the added bonus I got from the whole experience is the friends that I have made along the way. Just today I have added my 300th friend to Facebook – almost half are my Burlesque Babe friends and I wouldn’t have it any other way! This is an amazing group of women who I am proud to call my friends!!! Just recently we participated in a work shop about pin up poses with Kaitlyn Regher. It was an amazing experience to be a part of Calgary Burlesqurcise’s support of those women who are currently fighting or are survivors of breast cancer as they get ready to pose for the 2013 Pink Ribbon Pin-Up Calendar. I will always value what I have gained not only in the chance to dance but also for the fabulous friends I have made along the way!!!!!! Thank you Di for this amazing journey you have led me on!!!!!!

Kaitlyn Reghr, Co-creator of Pink Ribbon Pin-Ups and Host of the Slice Network’s ReVamped, teamed up with Burlesquercise in a workshop to teach ladies to 'learn posing like a Pin-Up and feeling good in your body at any age or size'...
Together with Canada Safeway, this exciting fundraising project was created to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, called the Pink Ribbon Pin-Ups 2013 Calendar - A Celebration of Fabulous Women!
With the support at the Rockabilly Blues Burlesque Gala and the Perfect Pin Up Workshop a Grand Total of $1,105 was raised! A 50/50 draw at the Gala was won by our very own Elvis (aka: Joseph Dahan) and he donating his winnings back to the cause. Yay, thank YOU Elvis!
Also, a huge thank you goes to Ballroom and Country Dance Studio for graciously donating their space and also, to Miss Kaitlyn Regehr for donating her time!
The workshop went over really well. In attendance was 4 of the Pin Up models that will be featured in the calendar!! Sales will begin in October, be sure to stop by your local Safeway. To celebrate the launch of this calendar, there will be a fun party, so keep your eyes peeled for details in the near future. Also in the works is the promo and mini-documentary from Kaitlyn...
We love having Kaitlyn a sexy guest instructress on our team.
Thanks to all the ladies for their fabulous support!
Twas a special Friday evening, when all the babes joined together to learn a hair curl, bit of blush and a lip gloss application... Who knew we weren't quite applying our makeup just right... Well we learned a thing or two. Read on...
